Ten-week runner intervention
In 96 amateur endurance runners, replacing about five minutes of the usual warm-up with jump rope 2–4 times weekly improved 3-km performance, jumping ability, RSI, and foot-arch stiffness versus control. The intervention totaled 10–20 minutes per week.

RSI and performance associations
A 32-study meta-analysis reported associations between RSI and acceleration, top speed, change-of-direction speed, strength, and endurance performance. These are associations, not proof that raising RSI causes each outcome.

Bounce skipping versus running
Testing in 22 healthy young women found lower landing vGRF and lower hip and knee adductor moments during basic bounce skipping than running, but higher values than walking.
Use bilateral bounce as the standardized foundation. Progress rope resistance and interval duration only as technique and tolerance support it. Alternating-foot techniques may be optional, but they are not a required progression.
JumpIron does not replace running, strength training, sport-specific sessions, or recovery planning. It provides a supplemental weighted-rope conditioning and strength-endurance exposure.
The Polar H10 is the recommended sensor when heart rate guides real-time work and recovery. The value grows by comparing repeated sessions, not by treating one workout as a verdict.

Weighted jump-rope training has not yet been shown directly to improve running performance or reduce running injuries. The cited runner intervention used conventional jump rope, and the biomechanics findings apply only to the tested conditions and populations. Technique, surface, rope resistance, fatigue and individual history can change loading.
